We follow Hillary through her early education all the way to law school, from her time as First Lady of Arkansas to the First Lady of the United States, all the way to her historic run for the Democratic Presidential nomination. Hillary faced many obstacles along the way, but her hard work and determination to succeed are an incredible example to young girls with big dreams.This book would be a good choice for classroom or home school use. In addition to the main story, Kathleen Krull has included five pages of more detailed information about the events covered in the book. This supplemental material is very interesting and will deepen an older child's understanding of Hillary Rodham Clinton's life and career.
I loved the book because my granddaughter was inspired by the fact that a little girl can dream and work to make that dream come true in many ways. That was the point in buying the book and point was taken!
Great book for young kids, especially girls
It is wonderful to read about such an inspiring person. Reading about Hilary Clinton makes me think that a lot more is possible than we often realize. That is a message that will be clear to young readers of this book. I feel so fortunate that Hilary Clinton is a leader in our Country. We have been able to follow her firm, compassionate diplomacy. She instills a feeling of confidence and pride in America. She has done a stellar job as Secretary of State. I hope young readers will be inspired to follow in Hilary Clinton's footsteps.
Couldn't bring myself to buy another princess story for a toddler and then I was told of this little gem
Key incidents in her life, starting with her wish to be an astronaut, give inspiration for a new generation. At the end, the book predicts a woman President. For the first time since the election, I teared up. I bought it for my granddaughter in Japan.
My kids were very interested in Hillary Clinton. It focuses on persistence and following your dreams. It also touches on the inequity girls and women face, which in my opinion is good to talk about as it creates awareness.
As a mother of two daughters it always delights me to find children's books where women are strong role models.I enjoyed this book and my daughters did as well ...
