Great book--and one of the better ones I've found. We loved the photos, suggested drives, food/eating suggestions, regional info, and suggestions for walking tours. My husband and I recently tagged along on an 11-day drive from Berlin to Frankfurt via Quedlinburg, Bamberg, Weimar, and Wurzburg. Our trip was already planned by his parents. So I bought this book mostly to fill gaps for myself and think about our own possible trips in the future. But my in-laws loved it, too, and we worked in many of its suggestions quite easily on the spur of the moment. They loved the spontaneity and the finding out-of-the-way surprises. And the concise section on international road signs, menu "decoding," and German phrases for drivers came in handy. This is a thin volume that fits well into the back of a car pocket and is sturdy enough to stand up to much handling. That said, it's pretty heavy, compared to other guides, but this is due to durable covers and glossy photo paper. It's a lovely book. And a week after our return, I'm still perusing, dreaming, and sharing our travels with others. Buy it and be glad!
I had been to Germany a few times. I wish I had read this book prior to my trips. There are so many gems in it which is not that famous. Read this book in details before you plan a trip to Germany. Highly recommended.
Great book to plot a trip by. Lot of great info on many, many small towns. We are driving for 5 weeks through Germany and a lot of our plans are based upon this book.
I'm very pleased with the product I ordered. The quality of the book matched its description and even arrived sooner than expected. I am a bit disappointed that the map in the back was torn out, but everything else was pretty good.

As all DK publications, this one is clear and pleasant to read. Strongly recommended if you are contemplating car travel on the best maintained highway system in the world.
This is a great book for a "do it yourselfer". Get off the beaten track and see the Germany that you always wanted to visit. Driving in Germany is easy and people are most helpful in directions if you get lost.
Very useful in our trip into the Black Forest.
