Personally, I'd have to say the patterns are great but the thread is the worst. I would have given this item 5 stars had it included a better thread. But as it is I'm only giving it 3 stars due to the worth of the thread. The patterns that this item include are great and there are good for gift giving however if I were to purchase this again Id buy separate thread in order to make the patterns. It did come on time and packaged fine.
The patterns in this book are cute but the instructions were terrible. I have cross stitched all of my life, so I didnt need the instructions, but they would be terrible for a beginner trying to learn. Also, the embroidery floss that came in the kit was very weak and would shred when doing stitches. I took the floss by itself and could "break it in half" or make it shred by just using my two hands and pulling. I ended up having to buy my own floss to replace it.
Patterns are fairly simple, so a beginner can make some fun Star Wars themed designs.
When I first got this, there was no hoop, no chart booklet, I had to send it back. The replacement had the chart booklet, hoop, fabric, a few skeins of floss. Over all I was disappointed in the first one. The second, well, all I really wanted was the chart booklet, I have plenty of fabric, needles and floss to do these. I look forward to stitching from this.
I guess I didn't read the description very well. I thought I would just be getting a book. But it's a book and a kit to make 2 projects! Even black aida cloth, which is rare. So much fun, I cant wait to make these!
I used to like e crossstich. Then marriage, career, children.... saw this and bought it for myself- for $5 more at Whole Foods. I don’t like that the floss included isn’t numbered?! That’s annoying. Otherwise everything you need to get started.
My mother taught me to do cross-stitch as a child and it has come in handy over the years. I have been working to teach my own daughters the same and because of their love of Star Wars (and mine too) this was a perfect kit to do just that. The kit provides you with a ton of ideas for things you could create in the future and gives you floss and other supplies to create one such cool Star Wars creation. The activity kit is amazing and the first that I have found that really incorporates in a love for Star Wars with cross-stitch. My Kudos on this kit as it is easy to follow and fun for all ages!
